Located at the picturesque West Lake, Hangzhou Du Jinsheng Silk Weaving Mill was first founded as a family workshop by the renowned national industrialist Mt. do Jinsheng in May 1922. Through more than 70 years of earth-shaking changes, the Mill has become the largest silk arts and crafts producer and exporter in China.

    The Mill is a national grade ii enterprise , authorized to export by iteslf. Its prestigious products are Du Jinsheng tapestries, including a variety of portrait pictures,scenery pictures and tapestries for decoration. Elegant in manner and comfortable in feeling,Do Jinsheng tapestry is best for decorating rooms. The tapestry of scenery pictures boasts of being unique in the world, and won the gold prize at  the 1926′ Philadelphia International Fair. Hence the products are honoured as crystalization of exquisite oriental art.

    The Mill now has  established two main production bases, with 1090 workers and staff members and 280 silk weaving looms, including the 8 x 8 polychromatic jacquard silk weaving looms of the international advanced level designed and manufactured by the Mill,and the imported water-jet looms and air-jet looms. Equipped with computer design system, the Mill explores over 50 new products and pattern designs annually. Two kinds of its products have won national gold medals and another two national silver medals. So far the following products hold the top level of contemporary silk weaving technology. The 11.65 meter long scenery tapestry entitled ((Jiang Shan Wan Li Tu )) (Ten thousand miles of landscape) is the longest of its kind in the would.  ((Chun Yuan Ning Hui ))(Spring garden in charming sunshine),  ((Mai Can Dui Yu Shoo Ge Ren ))(The Harvest ) and ((Wen))(Kiss) are woven ,ith nearly a hundred colonred silk yarns.

    An attraction to the outside world, the Mill has received a good many state leaders and distinquised guests. The leaders of the older generation Zhou Enlai, Ye Jianying, Peng Zhen, and many others visited the Mill many times, when accompanying foreign friends.The Party and government leaders Zhu Rongji, Li Ruihuan, Hu Jintao, Li Lanqing came especially on their inspection tour.

    Along with the deepening of reform and opening-up to the outside world, recently the Mill carried out “The restructure of the enterprise mechanism and its products” in order to meet the needs of the market .
